I wanted to try out a few Italian vehicles in green to go with my Italian FOW army. I plan on my army being used in various early to mid war Italian European battles. With that in mind, the vehicles should be painted in grey green for many of these fights, with some others being painted tan (which I still need to get to). So, I pulled out a pack of motorcycle troops that I had, some old resin trucks for transport and a set of AA trucks. I have some CV3/33 tankettes somewhere that need to be this color also (as soon as I find where I put them).

I started by spray painting all these models with PSC Field Grey spray paint. This color gives a nice grey green base and is a good place to start. I then covered the models with Vallejo dark green armor wash to bring out the green a little and shade the models. The next step was to wet brush Vallejo field grey over the models to bring out the original color. I worked up all the canvas with some Vallejo Grey Green. I then painted all the wheels (boy that was a lot of wheels) with some GW contrast black. This opaque paint sits well on the green. I hit the windows, AA Guns, engines and lower extensions with normal black paint. I dry brushed everything with some Vallejo Iraqi Sand.

Next was the basing. This followed the same method I used on my infantry to match up. I added some bases to the AA trucks, so they would sit better with the transport trucks. I think this tied them to the army also. I glued the riders to the motorcycles, from the batch that I painted with the earlier infantry. A little dull coat and the vehicles are were done. Now I just need to find those tankettes….
