Next on the new Battlefront releases are the Hungarian Bagration Command cards. If you are into Hungarians, this is a must buy in my opinion. Like most command sets, this one gives you a full selection of units, formations, special characters and rules. Unlike the Finnish set, this set gives you a substantial selection in all the categories, much like the main army command card sets.
First we start with six special characters. These are similar to what you find in other sets, buy giving you upgrades to units that you attach them too, mostly improved rolls over basic stat checks.
There is a selection of unit upgrades and special cards, like most sets. Different transport options, MMG pits and Lucky cards.
The gold mine for the set is the formation and unit cards. These allow you to convert units to represent Hungarian Parachute units, lower quality volunteer troops, mounted Huszar with support, Hungarian border guards and motorized units. In addition, you get the normal set pioneers and motorized pioneers. A really full selection to allow you to create almost anything you need to represent a Hungarian force in the 44-15 period. There is a flavor card to allow you to field the one singe Zrynyi the was armed with a 75mm ATG to supplement your Zrynyi company. An interesting option for flavor. I truth, would have preferred Marder options, which were used by the Hungarians in decent numbers. However, you cannot have everything!
Overall, it is a nice set and I’m glad I bought it. With this in hand, I can get to my Hungarian army and figure out how to organize it before I paint it up. I just have to finish my exiting projects first!
