A little break and a little more terrain. I pulled out some elfish terrain pieces I had in my collection to paint up for fantasy gaming. In going through my box, I had an obelisk from armor cast a temple from Mini Monsters and some random small obelisks. I had some others, but ran out of white paint, so they will have to wait until later!
All the models are made of resin. No flash to speak of, so I was able to go straight to assembly with super glue. The temple was a bit tricky, as the parts stacked up and did not match up perfectly. However, it is a ruin, so I think that is OK.
I sprayed all the models with Krylon tan base. I then hit them all with Woodland Scenics raw umber. I then wet brushed them with some craft paint medium tan and then light tan (I do not remember the specific colors, but it is not that important). Then I realized I did not have any craft white, so I grabbed my bottle of Vallejo white and used that (not the smartest move considering the cost). A final drybursh with white and the stone was done. On the temple, I wanted to add some color, so I used some GW turquoise on the roof. I hit this with a light tan dry brush to give some aging. I then painted the inside of the well GW contrast black.
All the models were hit with flat Krylon spray to seal. This gives a semi gloss effect that helps tone down any crackly look on the dry brush, so I like it on stone terrain. Now I have some terrain. Nest I need to go to Micheals and buy some white craft paint and finish up everything else!
