A quick side project. While waiting for a wash on something to dry, I decided to paint up some spider models. I had spray painted them black some time ago and just grabbed them. I was working with GW black wash, so just kept going on the three spider models sitting on my painting tables. Once that dried, I hit them with a grey dry brush and finished up with a dull coat spray to give a slight sheen. I then hit the eyes with some gloss coat.

I decided not to so the base, as I wanted to give myself options and thought they would be good for pulp. In retrospect, I think these would make really good spiders for LotR skirmish (stay tuned). For now, they are ready for my next pulp game!

The models themselves, are from Wiz Kids and come in a grey semi hard plastic. The spiders are single piece, so just remove some light flash and they are ready to go. The also come with a flat round base and some spun web pieces. I opted not to use these yet. The round bases are a little to low profile for my tastes and I think the sea bits will end up as a terrain feature at some point. However, at just under five dollars, they are a good value. Go with an easy paint job and you are set. Being semi hard plastic, they are light and resilient and should not chit easily. Perfect for storage and use, with no fear when dropping!
