When you buy the Star Wars Legion core set, along with all the troop minis, you also get a set of eight barricades. These are used in a number of the base scenarios presented in the core rules. You can also get these as separate sets from Fantasy Flight, if you want more or just don’t want the core set (which is actually a no brainer purchase!).
They are cast in semi hard resin, just like the clone troopers. There are actually only two designs, which you get four of each. Thy are single piece, so all you need to do is remove a little flash and they’re are ready for painting. It was an easy project and and I needed something quick to do, so I figured I would paint them up (especially after taking time to do the clones).
I sprayed the models with Krylon grey primer and let that dry. I hit all the minis with a black wash to get the painting started. This was followed up with a heavy dry brush of light grey from Vallejo and then a light dry brush of white on some of the raised details.
I felt that they needed a little more character, so I opted to go back and paint the vent interior and computer panels with some GW contrast black. I then hit the various knobs and screens with white, red or blue. Let that dry and hit them all with a Krylon dull coat to seal them and add a slight sheen. With that dry, I have my first terrain for Star Wars Legions.
