Well, we cannot say that we had a normal Christmas this year… Many of us stayed home and had little or no contact with friends and family. I was not alone in the Covid ritual. So, I had plans for a quite Christmas and gift opening day. Well, a good buddy of mine had another idea! He called me and asked if he could swing by on Christmas to say high. I said sure, he is very careful and locked down with his family, so I was not too worried. I figured he was just being nice to make sure I was not turning into a hermit over the holidays.
The day came and I did my Christmas things with much texting and Skyping going on. I got the text from him and he came by. Much to my surprise, he brought gifts from his family. So, we chatted and I opened my presents. Amongst the stash was a fully restored French WWII Adrian Helmet and Canteen. I have a smattering of historical regalia, so this was up my alley!
He found a deal on the actual items and did the rehab himself. Since I have a blog, no reason not to share in my bounty! So, here in their glory are the helmet and canteen! It’s a good thing to have friends!
