I picked up a sheet of styrene craters I saw marked down to a dollar and a nearby model train shop (some of the best places to find wargaming terrain). The sheet included two craters on a white vacu-formed styrene sheet. These are made by a number of companies and can be found at reasonable prices. I already had some similar ones that I did years ago for a fresh cratered look. I thought these would be nice for an aged crater to center in Pulp games.
With my current push to clear up some of my backlog of terrain, I decided that I would through these into the stack to finish.
First I cut out the craters using some scissors. Since these were going to be aged, I left a bit of a lip to add flock later. I hit the cut out craters with some grey spray primer from Krylon and covered it with a dark grey wash from woodland scenics. I then dry brushed all of them with various shaded of gray. I painted the edges brown and covered the areas with my usual static grass flock mix from Scenic Effects. Hit it with Krylon flat coat (which has a slight sheen). Only a buck and a little time and there are ready for the table.
