Time for a little F&I boat action! There is just something about a F&I battlefield, when you can add a little water to it… While going through my unpainted bit on F&I, I pulled out all the various F&I canoes that I owned to get them into gaming shape. There were a couple of other small boats in the bag, so I added them to the stack. The kits are either Wargames Foundry models (that come with crews) or Old Glory Miniatures models.
Each model is single piece and made of resin. The OG resin is hard tan and the WF is a super hard gray (probably more prone to shatter). Each needed a little clean up of flash, but nothing too bad. Each is reasonably well detailed.
All the boats were spray painted Krylon Camo Brown. I hit them with a black wash and dry brushed them up various shades of brown. I added a bit of gray dry brush on the long boats to reflect the warn wood. The canoes all needed some tan on the various rope ares. I spayed all the models with Dull Coat to seal them. The canoes were his with a semi gloss on the bottom, so the leather would look different than the wood inside and I painted the water on the base of the smaller canoes with gloss coat.
The models are all from Wargames Foundry. I had these painted by Fernando ions ago, just never got round to the boats. Unfortunately, I have another bag of crew the still needs to be painted! I am a fan of the lighter resin boats, as you can get some very nice sizes. I find that the kits with metal canoes makes the boats too small, so have avoided them. Now that these are done, I am ready for some water action!
