With some work, I have finally gotten my T9A Asklander Army ready for the table top. As you may have noticed from some earlier articles, I have been converting my Vikings to square bases to make them compatible with T9A gaming. Along with that, I have been adding new units and various specialty figures to round out the army.
The force includes plenty of Vikings models, which are a mix of Vitrix, Old Glory and Gripping Beast figures. I also have the odd GW or other company in the mix. The monsters are a mix of DeeZee, RAFM and Gamezone.

The final piece was to get some standards done for the infantry. These were printed from the Foundry website and attacked with white glue and water. Unfortunately, I sprayed them too soon with dull coat and got a whiting effect. That required me to go back and paint each flag color by hand to cover up the damage! I think it worked out fine in the end.

All the troops are based using ballast painted brown and drybrushed up to tan. I then added my usual tufts and scenic effect ground cover. All base borders are painted dark brown, which is the same color used for the movement trays. I use Shogun movement trays, as these blend in well to the base border and do not have a large “lip” around them, so they contact well in games.

Now, I’m ready to take them onto the field. Now the question is do I need some cavalry or trolls……
