I was on a Saturday night Skype paint a thon last Saturday with some buddies. One of the topics of discussion was regarding Orc and Goblins. During the conversation, my buddy showed that he finally was working on the Forge World Idol of Gork model. We were discussing base size and use in the game. The discussion caused me to look over my displays and look at the same model that I finished some time ago.

It is a fantastic looking model. When I did mine, we were still playing 8th edition Warhammer. Back then, you could mount the model on a 150mm x 100mm base. As such, that is how I mounted mine. Unfortunately, the base size in T9A is 100mm x 100mm. I was trying to decide if I wanted to rebase. Normally, I do not mind rebasing, but I am am very happy with how my model came out. It is actually screwed down to the base and has scenic effects added. As such, I decided to leave my model as is. I do not think depth matters too much in the game and can work around it. I may paint some lines on the side of the base to reflect the 100mm, to help players determine flanks. Hopefully, T9A will add a 150mm option when the army book is finalized.

For now, Rocky Rock Monster will remain unchanged.
