Continuing on my great flocking exercise, my next army for bringing to completion is the late Napoleonic wars army of Saxony. Here we go…
The figures are all Eureka 15mm. I sent these away to Fernando in Sri Lanka to have them painted to collector quality, using their standard technique. The gun models are from Gajo minis.
Next step was to mount them all on bases. For this period, I use pre-cut steel bases. All are using standard sized old school Napoleons Battles (Koenigkrieg) basing. I spray these green and glue the figures on using white blue.
The next step was to add flags. In this case, I decided to order the Vaubanner flags and attache them using white glue. I’m a fan of the flags and it saved by some time in downloading and sizing.
Once the glue had dried, I went back with green paint (Howard Hughes Geo Hex Green) and painted the bases and flocked them with Woodland Scenics blended turf.
The last step is to dull coat the figures with Testors Dull Coat. This puts a final seal on the figures. Hardens the flags that much more and better seals the flock. I will sometimes go back and gloss coat the bayonets, but it did not seem necessary in this case. Everything dried and my troops are ready for the table!
