My Outer Banks fun extravaganza was cut short by Hurricane Dorian last week.. So had to make lemonade out of lemons. As with all things in life, things just usually work out if you let them. The early departure did make it possible for me to go to the annual Knokesville Tank Farm Open House. I missed the event last year, do do a rain cancellation. It was looking that way again with Dorian coming up the coast, but as it turned out, Northern Virginia was completely spared (a bit overcast, but no rain). Since I was back home, it would be tanks for me!
The tank show runs each year, if the weather does not intervene. It is filled with World War Two and Cold War armored vehicles that you can actually walk up to and touch. You will also find plenty of reenactors there to add a little flavor. They run plenty of demos of weapons (the flame thrower is always a crowed favorite) and vehicles driving around. They also have have veteran interviews and so much more. If you get hungry, there are a number of food trucks to fill your gut! I always enjoy the visit and highly recommend it if your into armored vehicles and such (and why would you not be?). Here is the photo dump for this year for your enjoyment.
