My FLHS (Huzzah Hobbies) had a Black Friday sale last November. When going through the discount sale, I saw a stack of boxes of terrain from
Mantic’s new Terrain Crate line. Since the price was right, I picked up a box of each. When inspecting the figures, I saw they were done is a brown semi hard plastic. Before going crazy painting everything I thought I would try an easy piece to see how it held paint. My choice was a couple of hay bales. Can always use these on a Pulp table!
Very simple paint job. I sprayed the bales with Krylon medium brown paint. Not being confident in the material, I decided it would be best to go with an enamel spray, so the first coat would bond well. I then gave each a brown wash, After that dried, I used Vallejo Iraqi sand and drybrushed the entire model. I then drybrushed the hay with Vallejo bone. Dull coated the figure and viola! I rubbed them around to see how the paint stuck and am happy to report that everything stayed in place. Now, to make time for all the other terrain!
