On my most recent visit to St. Louis, I took a road trip down to Fort Leonard Wood to check out their military museum. The John B. Mahaffery Museum actuality, the museum is made up of multiple museums in the same facility. This is a result of the military base consolidations that have been taking place in the U.S. over the last two decades. The museums include Chemical, Engineer and Military Police wings. Each has plenty of examples of military equipment and models to reflect the various areas of specialty. In addition, the museum has a healthy smattering of AFVS around the main museum building, as well as in a couple of parks around the military post. The base itself is interesting, as it is now used by all branches of the U.S. military for various training disciplines. I am including a few photos I took while at the museum in this post.
