When I switched from Eight Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battles to the Nineth Age, I needed to remount my artillery on round bases. I only managed to do that for two armies, one of which was my dwarves. Well, now that I have jumped into Warhammer the Old World, I am back to needing square bases!

One of the things I liked about the 9th age basing, was the diorama look of having all the figures together. I see the reference in ToW is to mount the weapon on a square base and then separately mount the crew to use as wound markers. I decided I liked the diorama look, so I decided to just mount the crew with the gun on the square bases. Fortunately, I had pinned the crew before, so it was not too hard to unattached and re-glue the figures.

So, I started popping off my dwarf crew and did new fifty millimeter bases, matching the other figures in the army. I then positioned the guns and marked the spots I had to drill holes to pin the feet. I did that and glued the figures down. I decided not to glue the guns for now, as I wanted a little flexibility to possibly switch out guns in the future. I already have some separate cannons that I have to repair (a critical dropping accident). I might do more crew later and glue everything down in the future, but we shall see.

In any case, I now have some properly mounted artillery support for my dwarves. Now I just need to paint up a few more infantry, command and gyrocopters to finish up the army!
