While walking around Historicon, I came across a unit of seven Battlefront R-35 tanks that were based painted. They were only six dollars each, so I figured I would pick them up and add them to my collection. I liked the color choices and the price, so it was an easy buy.
I often pick up partially painted models when I see them, as I don’t mind finishing up partially painted minis. As long as the color choice is good and the colors are in the lines, it just gives me a head start!
I sat down the other night and finished these up. They needed a little work. I started with painting the treads gray and the muffler rust. I then hit some areas with some spot washes to add shading. I finished up with a few decals and an Iraqi sand drybrush.
With that, I have pimped my tanks up and have my first 1940 French armor unit to support my Foreign Legion!
