I was happy with my Wiz Kids model to be an ersatz Manger Squig. I decided I wanted to have two in my army. However, I did not want to models with the same pose. With that consideration, I turned to Etsy to see what I could find. I found a few options that I thought would work and match my other model. I went with the cheapest option and placed an order. It took a few weeks and it finally showed up.
I painted the model up, like the earlier one, with a simple brown base and drybrush up with browns. I also added some orange on the mushroom to add some color. I then picked out all the leaves and hit those with a few shades of green. I felt the brown was a bit chalky, so hit the entire model with a dark brown thinned wash to filter that out.
Next I attached the model to a brown painted base and pumiced it up, adding a couple of rocks to break things up. Some dry brushing and added flocking next. I finished up with a sampling of different flower colors. With that, I have my second Mangler Squid (aka Shambling Behemoth).
