Next on deck for my aircraft project was the Messerschmitt Me-100. The plane comes in the base Angels 20 game. I saw it online and it seemed to be one of the nicer aircraft. I cannot say it was really necessary, but what does need have to do with collecting miniatures!
I grabbed them out of the box, as they had a nice base paint job that I did not feel needed much help. I started with doing a little black lining of the control surfaces. I then hit various details with some black contrast paint.
The model comes with green spinners with a red tip. I decided just to change these to black, to add a little more contrast. I was going to highlight the bottom, but it seems I do not have the right matching color, so I let it go (It is the bottom after all).
The most difficult step was painting the blue contrast on the canopy. It is a very large canopy with a lot of bird caging. I took it one panel at a time. Next I hit the bird caging with some dark green to cover up my mistakes and some over paint on the original model from the manufacture. I noted a few imperfections in the green, overall. So, I just touched those up.
Next was the spray Satin coat. I followed this up by adding a few decals (it just comes with crosses) and finished up with some hand painted gloss coat on the canopy. Another two planes added to my collection. These do not really existing in Flames of War, so they will be proxies for when I want to have an alternative on the table.
