I am still working on my Gnome army for The Old World. I have pretty much wrapped up the troops and just need to work on some more support options to fill out the army. I am going with a woodland Gnome theme for the moment, so decided to focus on animals and tree based troops.
Going through my figure collection, I found a a few bags of small rabbit miniatures. I think they may have come from Peter Pig. I could not figure out the best fit at first, but settled on using them as snotling swarms. They were small and would fit well on a 40mm base. I had plenty of rabbits, but I decided to cap the size on six bases. I suppose I could do more, but I cannot imagine using more!
I sprayed the bases brown and glued the rabbits down in random patters (I had primed the rabbits white some time ago). I hit them with contrast white paint and then drybrushed them up white. I then hit all the earls and noses with contrast pink and a straight pink highlight. A little black on the eyes and that took care of most of the figures. A few had carrots, so I just hit those with contrast orange and green and hit each with the appropriate highlight color.
I pumiced up the bases with Mig paste, let that dry and drybrushed it up. I added flock and various flower tufts to the bases. I hit the edges with some dark brown and sealed everything in with some dull coat. With that, I have some Bunny (snotling) swarms. My first troops that are actually smaller than my Gnome troops! Fear the rabbit….
