I had put together a large infantry component of a Gnome army a few years ago. I used 15mm Gnome models from Splintered Light and Peter Pig to get a good cross of poses. I chose the 15mm models, as these represented a better sizing for 28mm Gnomes than the larger scale models available. I set those troops on the shelf, while deciding how I was going to field them in Fantasy Battles.
Well, the new Warhammer the Old World has been released and I started looking at my various fantasy armies to decide which ones I would port over. I started with my dwarves, but then decided it was time to give the Gnomes some love. Going through the various lists, I decided a night goblin proxy would fit the bill the best. This would give me some fun silliness to go with the figures. I bought some converters and glued them to my existing figures (I have not finished pimping these up, so no pictures yet). I then started going through my unfinished models and various other figures in my various boxes and picked a number I thought would work as proxies.
While going through some older boxes, I found some addition Gnomes that I painted a long time ago. I pulled these out and also went into search mode for some killer rabbit models I painted for different games. I found those amongst my Bretonnians and Pulp models. I grabbed those and various other models and started the rebasing, painting and touch up process.
First I worked on the Gnome infantry. I had enough for one small unit (or to fill out existing units). Although, I realized that I missed one when I did my pictures! Anyway, I glued them to some 25mm brown sprayed bases, along with the killer bunnies. I then pumiced them up and followed with a few dry brushes. Added some flock and some flowers and these are now ready to go as part of the army. With these, I will be able to field four large blocks of troops and have six fanatics (Killer Bunnies).
