Last Christmas, a buddy of mine brought me some random FOW models. He had bought the years ago and never did anything with them. So, he figured I could use them. So I took them for incorporation into my forces in the future. Well, I already had plenty of these forces. I could have added them to those respective companies, but they had different paint jobs, so I decided against it. Now that I am working on my Mediterranean theme, I figured I would add these to those forces as random add ons.
The figures were mounted on pieces of wood, so I pulled these off and added them to regular flames of war bases that I had sprayed tan. I then pumiced them up with Vallejo desert sand and hit them with some GW sepia, once that dried. A couple of nights later, I hit them all with some Vallejo light sand drybrush. The flocking and tufting was the same as the other Mediterranean bases, with Scenic Express flock and Gamers Grass tufts doing the heavy lifting. I then painted the edges with dark earth.
I was not totally happy with the paint job on the figures and thought they would need a little help. The helmet covers were done in tan and orange… The rest of the figures looked OK for Pea Dot. So, I painted sections of the helmet medium green and then smaller sections bright green. I then added some bright green dots to the uniforms. Everything else looked fine to me, so I left it at that. That should wrap up my Mediterranean Germans for now….
