I have gone back into factory mode to try to clear out some of my many mostly finished FOW infantry units. Some of these I have purchased and others I have painted. However, all needed to be based. I started with some more Italians to go with the Libyan force in the desert. I thought I could use a demolisher platoon to bolster up the locals. In this case, I found a unit online from Gajo minis. I liked how these looked an purchased a platoon.
The platoon arrived and I look over it. I felt everything looked great, so no additional painting was needed. I straightened out some weapons and organized them. Since these were going to go with my Libyans, the basing used on those would be repeated.
I started with spray painting the BF bases with some tan to prime them. Later, I glued down all the figures to the bases (minus a couple laying down figures, which I attached later). I then pumiced each base with Vallejo desert past and let that dry. I had to go back and hit some sections again, as I got a bit of cracking.
Once the pumice dried, I dry brushed each with some Vallejo light sand and added some Games Grass winter tufts. I then painted the boarders with some Vallejo dark sand and dull coated the lot. With that, I have a few more troops to bolster my desert forces.
