While walking in Micheals during, I saw their Christmas terrain set up. Looking at the trees on the set up, I noticed a few models of trees without leaves. They only had one model in stock, so I bought it to get the info on the manufacture.
So I went online to to see if I could order more. I did not find any from Michaels, so I found the manufacturer (Lemax)and ordered a few more, with some others that looked good.
The models have resin bases and the trees are wire with plastic wraps. All come pre-painted. As such, they are ready to go. Except for me…. I decided to work on the bases, just so they would match my other trees.
So, I pulled out the Woodland scenics burnt umber and applied it to the bases. After it dried, I hit the bases with a craft paint tan drybrush. I then added my standard Scenic Express green flock. I then went back and added a wash to the rocks, just to make them stand out some. I finished with a dull coat spray to lock in the flock
Along with the trees, I ordered some planter flowers that I thought would look good on an urban board. I hit them with a black wash and grey drybrush to pimp them up a bit. They also got the same dull coat.
I am happy with the trees, as they add some variation to my woodland terrain in 25mm. Look out for them in future battle reports!
