While scouting out the shelves at my FLGS, I came cross GF9s new sandstone road set. I was not been a fan of their older cobblestone set, as I felt they are more suited for 25mm gaming that 15mm gaming. As such, I never picked them up. However, I have been trying to decide how to make a water barrier for my 25mm town terrain. Seeing these, I figured I had solved my problem. So off to the cashier I went, with a box in hand.

I got them home an laid them out and confirmed they would give me what I was looking for. The roads are made from GF9s usual black heavy flexible caste material. They do not bend much, but will lay fine on minor slopes. They are a bout a quarter of an inch thick, so sit up a bit (perfect for my needs). They are painted light brown and have a heavy tan drybrush. They are defiantly usable as sold.

I was not thrilled with the heavy drybrush look and lack of contrast. So, I decided I would pimp these up, like much of my GF9 terrain. In this case, I hit all the road sections with a Woodland Scenics Burn Umber wash. Once that dried, I then did a drybrush with some tan craft paint. I wrapped up with a sealer coat of Krylon Matt finish. With that, they are ready to go!
