Because I never seem to have enough stuff, I seem to have needed more…. That was the case with the Star Wars Legion Separatist Specialists. I decided I wanted another T series and probe droid for my collection. With that in mind, I picked up another set last week.
Just to change things up a bit, I opted to go with a different color pallet, to switch things up a bit. I also decided to leave a few pieces of the medical and mechanical droids. I sat down one evening and snipped off all the parts from the sprues and trimmed off the flash. I finished up gluing everything together using some Tamiya plastic cement.
I primed all the figures with some grey primer and the bases with dark brown. The medical and mechanical were simple schemes. I just hit the first two droids with a black wash and then highlighted up with various shades of grey and some white. I finished up with a little red on some of the light areas and gluing them to bases.
The viper droid is simple again. As it is black, all I had to do was paint this with some GW contrast black overall. This was followed up by some grey highlighting. I then hit all the lenses with red and a black dot. I hate the legion flight stands, so I tossed these aside and trimmed to legs to give a flat area on two feet and attached this to a base.
The Tactical droid was a bit more work, as I opted for a light grey and blue grey scheme (TK-21?). So, I hit the inside areas with a mid gray and then hit everything with a black wash. I then highlighted up the mid and light gray areas. Next I hit the color areas with the blue gray. I finished up with some red eyes and black weapon (highlighted gray), adding the anchor detail as the final touch. I then glued this to a base.
Next was adding Agrarian Earth from GW and letting that dry. I finished up with an Iraqi Sand dry brush and a spiky tuft from Gamers Grass. I sealed the models with Army Painter sealer and they are ready to go!
