I picked up this piece up last year. I can not remember if it was from Legion or Imperial Terrain. I do not see it on their respective websites, so maybe from another place… Anyway, I thought it would work on my space port table. It was cheap, so I picked it up.
The model arrived with a little bit of flash. It was printed in PLA, like most after market terrain available for this game. I must admit, this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine at this point! Resin printers are so cheap now and provide such a better quality (no ridge lines or spaghetti details). Well, this had both issues, so I worked around them. I primed the model with some auto gap filling primer. I added some white glue to some of the areas with spaghetti details to tone them down a bit.
Next it was painting time… Like most of this stuff, I hit the model with a thick wash and then a few layers of wet, then dry brushing. I decided to add some white and contrast black to the top and grills, to add some character. I then decided to add a little dark red to test out some colors I had (for a future project). I fished up with a dull coat from Army Painter. All ready to go!
