I wanted more line of sight blocking terrain for Star Wars Legion, so I grabbed a couple of shipping container mini at my FLGS. The models are from Reaper, as part of their Bones line and are sold as individual models. They are reasonably priced, if you just want a couple for your collection.
We The models are moulded in hard ABS plastic and come in separate pieces. They are easy to assemble, as the model has nice deep connection points. I assembled mine with Tamiya model cement in a couple of minutes.
I primed them with some tan, as I had not decided what color I was going to paint them and that makes a nice warm base. After sitting down with my point box, I opted to grab a paint pot of GW contrast paint. I am trying to use these up, so large area painting is a good way to do that. I also wanted an uneven coverage, to give some variation. I opted for a dark green base, as I do not have this color in my terrain yet and am trying to get away from all the gray and white.
Once the contrast paint had dried, I hit it with a couple of layers of green dry brushing. I do not remember the specific color, as I was just grabbing shades quickly…. I let that dry and applied a Krylon satin coat sealer to finish up the models.
A very quick and inexpensive project and I have some more blocking terrain that minutes can climb on! I think these are very nice. Light weight and strong. I am not sure I would want to do fifty of them at the price point, but for just a few, they are a great deal.
