While looking around at the various games being played at Cold Wars, I ran into a busy of mine that was playing a French Prussian skirmish game his shop is selling. I was not that interested in the fame, but was vary curious about the hay stacks he was using on his table. I really liked the size and variable shapes. He told me the set was available from Old Glory Miniatures. Even though I have been buying Old Glory stuff for a very long time, I had never seen these before. Unfortunately, Old Glory was not in attendance, so I had to wait until I got home to check their online catalog.

Well, I got home and looked online and found the haystacks. They came is a set of three, each a unique sculp. Perfect, I ordered two! They arrived about a week later and I decided to waste no time and painted them up!

The models are cast in a hard tan resin and have no flash. I sprayed them with some Krylon camo tan spray paint. I then hit them with a brown wash. I wanted a little more yellow, so I then hit them with Vallejo German armor wash to tint them a bit. Once that was dry, I hit them with a few dry brushes of various tans. Some dull coat and they are ready to go.
I really like the look of these pieces, as they are sufficiently large (larger than my earlier purchases) and give a nice variable look. I cannot wait to get them on the table in my next F&I game!
