With the new year, we should be back to the full war-game convention schedule again. The first large event on the docket was HMGS Cold Wars. I just got back from the event and took my usual pictures. The convention was held in Valley Forge (the first time for this event, I believe).

I registered online the week before the convention (which I strongly recommend), so registration at the hotel was a snap. We arrived on Thursday evening to take care of registration and check out the open gaming.

After a quick jaunt to Fort Mifflin (about thirty minutes south), we got back to the convention at about noon at jumped into a painting class at Hobby University. After that, it was shopping time, as the first flea market opened. I found a few bits there and then hit the vendor hall for an initial recon. We had a nice dinner at the steak house at the casino and called it a day.

On Saturday, we hit the first flea market and then went to another Painting University session. We finished up with the afternoon flea market and final vendor hall purchases. In between the shopping, I checked out the various games and tournaments that were being held for my visual enjoyment and idea collecting. I did not attend any of the presentations this year, as they were not to my fancy, but their were at least a dozen.

One of the best things about these events is running into familiar gaming friends that now live in other parts of the country that I do not see normally. I defiantly had my fill in this regard too! With that, TJ and I decided to call it a day and headed out towards home (after figuring out how to get all our swag into his SUV!).

Another nice trip, which makes me look forward to Historican this summer!
