As many of you know, Acheson Creations is going out of business. They have been selling off their molds to other miniature companies. However, while this is going on, they are also selling some of their terrain in bulk purchase amounts, in place of the older piece method. These bulk deals give a pretty good deal on many of the selections. I saw their stone wall set and thought it would be a nice add to my Star Wars Legion temple terrain and Pulp South America ruins terrain (the latter is still not painted, but at least I have some walls!).
The set arrived and came in a box of foam peanuts. Each piece is single moulded and clean, so no cleanup is required. All are caste in a mid grey hard resin, as the rest of their line. There are five different models in the set and you get even multiples of each.
I washed them off and primed them grey. Once this dried, I tried to apply a wash, but it would not stick. I was worried it was an issue with the resin curing, but fortunately that was not it. I sprayed them again with another primer and that did the trick (the original can seems to be the culprit).
So, back to applying a wash using Woodland Scenics stain. Some levels of dry brushing with craft paints and these now match my other terrain. A little (satin) dull coat and all done.
It is a nice set and right for the price. If your interested, buy them while they last!
