If you are into collecting Star Wars gaming terrain, there are two iconic things I think you need to have in your collection. The first are water evaporators and the second are shield generators. To me, nothing makes a gaming table look like it takes place in the Star Wars universe than these.

I picked up the Moister Evaporators as part of the Star Wars Legion objectives available from the game producer. The Shield Generator had proven more of a challenge. Microart made a nice one, but it has been out of production for a long time. There are plenty of 3D printed versions, but these are both expensive and poorly printed (unless you have your own resin printer, which I do not). Then you have a number of mdd laser cut offering, which are also a bit pricy and not great looking.

Well, GF9 produced there own version a while back. These were also rather expensive and out of production until recently. Well, you can now get them and they are cheaper at $20 each. Still not cheap, when you consider you need three of four of them. However, they are now competitive with the other less detailed options.

When I saw these were available again from GF9, I ordered four of them online. I placed the order quite some time ago and was wondering if they would ever show up (Covid supply challenges are definitely a problem from New Zealand). Well, they finally arrived, just in time for my first Legion game this weekend!

Each box comes with one generator and one connector as separate pieces. Each piece comes wrapped in bubble wrap (no more sticky styrofoam). Like all GF9 terrain, they come fully painted. Unlike most of the other GF9 terrain, I am actually very happy to use these straight from the box. They are base coated well, with full coverage. They have a light drybrush and you can see some of the black base color in recesses, giving a nice clean shaded look. So, I have no need to pimp these up!

With these, I think I am now in good shape on the terrain front. I do have some buildings under production (very slow production) to get a city scape. However, with these in my inventory, I am covered! If you pick them up, you will not be disappointed.
