Some time back, I posted an article on the new Gajo Prussian Napoleonic Landwehr. I got an Email a few weeks ago from Chris at Gajo that he had gotten in a restock of his artillery, grenadiers and jaegers. So, I ordered some sets, along with some Landwehr cavalry.
There are actually four different facing colors for the Grenadiers, but I only wanted the red and white, so I ordered enough to make a unit of each of six stands (one command set and one troop set). I also ordered enough jaegers for six bases. We have been using Bloody Big Battles to play the period, so I like to add these as separate bases to reflect skirmishers in Prussian units. I got a mix of artillery to cover the bases and got four sets of Landwehr cavalry (one command and three troops).
All the troops showed up within five days, so I was ready to go. I pulled out all the figures and organized them. I needed to straighten out a few muskets and lances and glue the riders on all the horses. With that done, I needed to get some bases out of my. base box! I use white metal bases for my Napoleonics, as I can magnetize them onto sabo movement bases.
I sprayed the bases medium green and then glued all the figures down using white glue and let that dry over night. I then pulled out my Woodland Scenics flock and attached it using Geo Hex Green paint. I let that dry and sprayed the troops the next night and they are now set. Now I just need regular infantry and cavalry to go with the army!
