I was doing some surfing on Etsy for some 3D printed terrain for Star Wars Legion. While going through the catalogs I came across three sets of cactus terrain that I thought looked nice. I figured they would help on some of my more arid terrain boards for Pulp Gaming. The price was right, so I grabbed all three sets.
The models are clearly printed from a generic 3D master, as there are half a dozen companies that sell them on Etsy. I find this is the case with a lot of Etsy gaming options in 3D. This makes the site a good source to find accessories for gaming. The models arrived all done in 3D printed resin. That means they are clean and do not have the printing lines you find on plastic printers. These were all very detailed and crisp. No clean up was necessary, so straight to painting!
I decided to go with both tan and green cacti. So, I sprayed some tan and the rest in light green. I hit the green ones with some contrast green and then dry brushed them up a bit. The stalk cactus got a brown wash and were dry brushed up in tan. I then hit the flowers with some purple paint and highlighted that up with some lighter purple.
I finished up by painting the bases tan, hit with some sepia and dry brushed up tan to match my other bases. I finished up with some Army Painter matt varnish.
