If you have been following this blog, you know I am a fan of Crescent Root buildings. This has really taken off since they introduced their newer multi material buildings some years back. One of the interesting things about the company is that they introduce buildings and phase them out every few years. These are then usually replaced by new lines. When I saw that the cycle was coming for their 15mm range, I decided to order a few spot purchases to fill in a few holes in my collection.
I started with ordering some of their small outbuildings for the desert and a hotel. I like the smaller buildings with courtyards, as they are easy to use in gaming and have a nice varied material footprint. I decided to buy some variations on color to add some color to my villages. The buildings arrived yesterday and will end up in with my existing inventory.
Unfortunately, these have been phased out. My bigger concern is that the new buildings will be even better and I will be tempted to buy them too! With story after story being posted recently of different lines being retired or their owners retiring, it just shows that one should not take for granted that interesting models will not always be available. Something to think about when you see that model that you cannot live without but think, “I’ll get that later”… Not so much a risk for 3D print unpainted items, but much more for painted offerings. Something to think about……
