Whenever I set up a built up area in my games, I like to add additions throw terrain items to give the areas more character. One nice add it to include lights to streets. With that in mind, I wanted some lights for one of my future Star Wars Legion boards. I came across some Sarrissa models online for cheap, so I picked up the set.
The kit is made of laser cut mdf. I am not normally a fan of this material, but thought it would work for some sci fi lights. These particular lights have a very 40k look. Not my game, but I thought they would also work for a Naboo theme. The kits come in sheets that have to be punched and trimmed at the connect points. You then have to glue them together with white glue stacked together, The light section is three pieces that you line up together. The base is also multiple parts that stacks up and fits the post inside.
Since I used white glue, I had to give these enough time to dry before spay painting. I decided I wanted a grey green look, so I sprayed them with some PSC Field Grey. Since it is wood, I let the first coat dry and then hit it with a second coat to better seal the wood. Once that was all dry, I hit the models with a black wash. I then went back of the lights with a field grey wet brush and then followed up with a grey green drybrush. I finalized by spreading the entire kit with some Krylon Dull coat for a nice painted metal effect.
