Next on the Acheson terrain train is their log bridge. I needed a decent length wood bridge for F&I and thought that this would work perfectly, so into the order cart it went!
The kit is the normal Acheson light grey hard resin. The kit was totally flash free, but did need to be cleaned with soap and water to remove the release agent to ensure the the paint would stick. The kit has five pieces. There are the two ends, the center span and two supports. You can buy extras spans if you want a longer bridge, but this is big enough for me.
I opted to go for a fresher oiled look on this bridge, instead of my more common aged grey. It would change things up a bit and better represent a newer structure. I sprayed the entire model with Krylon dark brown spray paint to start with.
I then hit all the pieces with a black Woodland d Scenics wash and let that dry. I then dry brushed all the wood with multiple layers of lighter browns, ending in tan. The dirt areas got a heavy layer of tan to get a sandy look. I considered painting the ends tan for fresh cut trees, but thought that would be a little jarring, so I went with the oiled look, so kept these brown. I net added some flocking to break up the bases. I finished up with some Krylon Dull Coat to lock everything in and no have another bridge for my collection.
