I was putting some figures away from my display shelves to cycle out some newer models and came across my 15mm Seven Years War Brunswickers. It was at this point I remembered I never actually finished these models… So, no time like the present.
The models were painted up a long time ago, but I did not add the flags or flock the bases. I am not sure why I did not finish them, maybe just out of sight out of mind. Anyway, time to finish. So I went to Kronscraf and copied some flags to powerpoint. I copy and flipped the images and printed them out on my laser printer. Some scissors and they were cut out.
Next I got some water and white glue out. I dip my flags in water to soften them a bit. I let them sit for a minute or two and then added white glue to the inside and attached them to the standard pole. At this stage, I just align the two sides and give a slight bend. I went through all the units and let them dry for about thirty minutes. I then went back with some tweezers and wrapped them to give more folds.
The next stage was to flock all the bases. This was done with some geo Hex Green brush paint on the bases, dipped into some mixed turf flock while the paint was still went.
Once all this was dry, I hit all the models with some Testors Dull Coat. This seals the flock and strengthens flags. With that, I have some Brunswickers ready to go (now I just have to find where I put my grenadier battalions).
