It has been a long time coming, but I finally finished these Star Wars Legion Arc Troopers. I do not know what it is, but every o often I get into a project that just takes much longer than it should and this was one of those. No real reason, as I cranked out my earlier Clone Troopers. Just kind of happens I guess. With that said, they are finally done and I can move onto another set!

I picked up the set last year at my FLGS and put them together right away. They come in hard plastic and give a few options for weapons and back packs. You also have the option of adding jet packs. I decided not to include these (might add them at a later date) and just to go with ground pounders. Three of the models are in flying poses and came with flying stands. I opted not to do this either.

The paint job is quite straight forward (well, if you do not keep making mistakes like I did). I started with a light grey spray on the bottom surfaces. I then sprayed white primer on the upper surfaces. The next step is to hit the models with GW What contrast shade. I then painted all the black areas with GW contrast black (under uniform, weapons, visors, etc). The next (and longest) step is to go back with white and hit all the upper armor plates. I tried to leave the shading on the lower surfaces to give some depth. Once all the white was done, I hit all the black areas with a grey highlight. the upper plates were also hit with some grey. I then went back and and painted yellow orange in various schemes on the different models (had to fit in schemes for Waxer and Boyle), so these would fit with my exiting 212th Legion troops.

At this point, I finally mounted the flying troops on bases, by drilling out the base and a foot to pin the models down. I then hit the bases with dark brown and covered it with GW technical earth to get the crackle effect. Next was a dry brush of tan to bring out the turf. I finished by adding a spikey tuft to each base and a krypton sealer.

With that, I have some Arc Troopers to add to my Legion Clone force! No, I need to paint something that I can get finished a little faster!
