Another Tuesday night and another Games Workshop Lord of the Rings game! My buddy set up a scenario for Orcs versus Gondor. It was a straight up fight using one of the standard scenarios. I got to the store a little late, but was able to jump into the game. This made for three players playing Gondor and two playing Orcs.
The table was set up with various ruins and some greenery. The scenario gave bonus points for being in your opponent’s set up area (entry corner), breaking your opponent and killing characters. The game would end when one for got to 25% remaining models.
The Gondor forces included a small group of knights warriors and a good number of rangers. The force was led by Aragorn and a ranger here 9I do not remember the name, even though I was playing him!). The Orcs fielded a few archers, some warg riders and a good number or Uriki. This force was led by the witch King and included another Nazgul and two orc named heroes.

We both started in our respective corners and advanced towards the center bridge, There was also a cavalry swing on the Gondor left against the same on the Orc right.

The game started with Gondor taking an early casualty advantage with their cavalry and archer advantage, with things looking good for the white city. As the Orcs closed with their main forces, things started to turn the other way, as they cut into the less armored Gondor fighters.

Aragorn kept getting caught out of position, so was unable to turn the time until late. However, as the Gondorians fell, their cavalry merged to take the Orc entry point and cause just enough casualties to break to Orcs by the closest of margins. With that, the game ended with a victory for Gondor!
