With my old Mikes models Imperials out of the way, I needed to turn to the next batch of troops. These were my Essex models. I popped the ones that I had off their bases and the remembered that Gajo sold these same minis. Sooo… On to the web and I selected the models I wanted to fill out my units. Followed by more figures to add more units (I really have a problem!).
Well, I waited for my order to arrived and got them by the end of the week. So, I added these to my existing figures and separated my piles into units. Out came my tacky glue and painted Shogun bases and I went to work.
Slowly but surely, I finished glueing them all to their bases. With that, I. had a half dozen pike and shot units, two unit of dismounted dragoons, another gun section, some commanders and a whole Buch of heavy cavalry!
A little flocking with Geo Hex Green and Woodland scenics flock and that step was done. I then hit them with the required Dull coat. I noticed a lot of the feathers were a bit dull, so I highlighted them all up with some white and then added some GW gloss black wash to shine up the armor.
With that, these figures were done. These with the earlier rebased Mikes Models should give me enough troops to play whatever battles I need. I just have to decide how I am going to add flexible standards! Now, where did I put those Ottomans….
